Surveillance

We are all familiar with surveillance as it is portrayed on many movies and television shows involving spies, undercover police and private investigators. One key word here is “portrayed”. It is never as easy as seen by the Hollywood glamour. You can always experiment on your own and follow some unknown target (do not stalk!) in city traffic. No cheating on the wide-open interstates. The point being made is you will encounter other vehicles pulling in front of you, the target barely making the yellow traffic light and you stop on red or your target is into speed. Just a reality of the moving surveillance. Private investigators are trained and equipped, but still must contend with these problematic issues. They know a number of techniques to avoid detection and still obtain your results. Classified Investigations, L.L.C. will start your services with an Intelligence File complied with information from you and our cutting-edge databases. This will assist us in a more focused and targeted strategy for your case. If needed, surveillance will be utilized. Confidential consultations with our client will enhance our focus and expedite your results.

Surveillance is a broad term. It could involve a “stakeout” which honestly is expensive for a client. Many times, there are techniques to avert stakeouts which can be a cost saver to you. As discussed above, there is “tailing” surveillance, usually in a vehicle, but at times on foot. Photographic tools, both overt and covert, may be in order.

Surveillance is an investigative tool private investigators typically use in premarital, insurance claims and workplace situations. Clients should always be aware that Florida is a no-fault state, meaning a cheating spouse typically has minimum legal impact in a divorce case. On the other hand, if a client is involved in a serious relationship it would be beneficial to follow up with a background check, possibly involving surveillance. Classified Investigations has experienced private investigators serving the greater Lakeland, Florida area. Contact us for a free confidential consultation today!

Infidelity Investigations (cheating spouse)

Asset Searches

Asset discovery investigations can reveal hidden property, banking and financial assets. Nationwide bank account searches can be an eye opener revealing unknown accounts and safe deposit boxes for judgement recovery. The judgment creditor can search the United States, as well as Canada and overseas. Discovery searching for brokerage accounts, hidden employment and bank searches, safe deposit boxes and that yacht. Our private investigators can use advanced technology to uncover hidden secrets. Tip: Here is where the client can play an instrumental role if he or she is still part of the target’s life, especially if living together. Do not discuss or intimidate the subject with unusual questions, threats or accusations. Keep it quiet while the investigation proceeds. The more the client confronts the subject, the deeper he or she will hide the assets.

Missing Person and Skip Tracing

Both a missing person and a skip have something in common, yet different in nature. The skip tracer is generally looking for deadbeats, jailbirds and the need to locate for a witness subpoena. The missing person may be categorized in two major groups: those people who are endangered and the other are people who want to be missing. Many times, the later are spouses who walk out of a marriage, some are drug addicts that have chosen to hide or become homeless. The latest troubling concern are those who are being Human Trafficked. This group are endangered, yet many times seek to remain hidden. They simply do not want to be found and often have been brainwashed or fear harm from their handler. A missing child is almost always classified as endangered, with possible abduction circumstances. A missing child will involve police intervention as well as state child services.

Typically, Classified Investigations, L.L.C. is utilized to locate a witness for legal process of service purposes. On occasion, a family member hires a private investigator to locate a homeless family member. Those cases generally involve considerable leg work in visiting shelters, churches, outreach programs and interviewing other homeless people.

Background checks are pivotal in many areas of investigations and intersect with a wide spectrum of cases. It is a preliminary tool for our investigations with both personal and corporate cases. At a basic level, it starts with professional database services that literally can scan billions of records for analysis by our staff. It is incorporated into your Intelligence File and provides investigators the ability to focus on important bits of information that lead to successful investigation results.

At the basic level this research digs up records on addresses going back sometimes decades. This may be important to know before your chose a partner for marriage or business. Bankruptcy, liens or judgements are discovered, criminal history convictions or arrests including probation, sex offender records, if any, driving history, social security verification with red flags, property owned such as motor vehicles, homes and watercrafts. We see licenses ranging from concealed weapons to professional licenses such as contractor to financial representatives to a fishing license. Relatives and marriage history, voter records and more are discovered. It is the common starting point for our private investigators to work cases involving assets, missing persons, pre-employment, premarital investigations, business partners and investor backgrounds.

Skip Tracing

Skip tracing is performed in stages. The first step is to verify the information provided by the client to understand who the subject is and if the client has any misinformation. Then the skip tracer will start collecting as much information as possible about the subject. The information is then analyzed, reduced, and verified. Sometimes the subject's current whereabouts are in the data but are obfuscated by the sheer amount of information or disinformation. Often, the job becomes more than mere research since one must often employ methods of social engineering, which involves calling or visiting former neighbors, or other known contacts to ask about the subject, sometimes under false or misleading pretenses.

Records or Information that "skip tracers" use may include phone number databases, credit reports (including information provided on a loan application, credit card application, and in other debt collector databases), job application information, criminal background checks, utility bills (electricity, gas, water, sewage, phone, internet, and cable), social security, disability, and public tax information. While some of these records may be publicly available, some cannot be accessed without an appropriate search warrant, or a specific permissible purpose, which is generally only available to financial institutions, their contracted third party vendors, law enforcement or licensed private investigators.

Even when no specific information is returned, public and private databases exist that cross-reference skip tracing information with others the "skip" may have lived with in the recent past. For instance, if previous records show a "skip" lived in the same house as a third party, the third party may also be skip traced to locate the primary target.

In the past skip tracing used to include things like dumpster diving and pretext calls to utility companies. These days a lot of skip tracing is conducted online using paid search sites and phone calls. Websites like Facebook have made a skip tracer's life a lot easier. Skip tracers will subscribe to a number of paid databases to help them gather and verify information. (source: Wikipedia)

Businesses ready to hire a future employee should consider a background screen. Classified Investigations L.L.C. offers two levels of pre-employment background screens to suit your need. Entry level for most of your screens and Sensitive for mid-level management positions. An employer never wants to give the keys to the shop without credential verification. All backgrounds require written notifications and signed consents from the candidate. This is for compliance for the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We also require a copy of the driver’s license and social security card (other documents may be necessary for Sensitive Backgrounds). Criminal background checks should be conducted with the finalist job candidate, typically pending the employment offer.
