Surveillance is observations of a person(s) or place to gather or confirm information. Typically, this involves the physical presence of an investigator who can record his or her findings either in notes, photos, or video. This is also known as a “stakeout”. There are situations that may call for specialized equipment such as a drone or a remote camera to complete your assignment. Federal and state laws dictate the legal and acceptable use of these devices. It follows that information obtained illegally cannot be used for any legal purpose.
Finally, digital surveillance can provide useful insights into your case with deep
searches on the web and digging into social media investigations using automated tools. Also, in today’s world there are electronic devices that can track the location vehicles in real time. Businesses commonly utilize these devices to monitor the whereabouts of their vehicles (think UPS). Again, there are specific constraints for any other uses.
When Surveillance Is Deployed
Surveillance is an investigative tool private investigators typically use in dealing with infidelity, insurance claims and workplace situations Many of our individual who suspect a cheating husband or wife simply want “peace of mind” to decide whether to pursue legal remedies. Most of our infidelity cases stem from a suspicious and hurting partner. These clients crave for the truth rather than continue in the dark with a declining relationship. Bear in mind that Florida is a no-fault divorce state, however, proof of a cheating partner may have a bearing on the custody of child, if that child is exposed to a person with a harmful background.
We also deploy surveillance when a business has concerns with an employee who is not holding up to company standards or possibly feigning an injury or missing work. Pending termination of an employee is a situation where the Human Resource manager may have concerns of retribution by the soon to be dismissed employee. Clients should know that Florida is a no-fault divorce state. That being said there are basic guidelines if your case is heading towards divorce. First, be mindful of texts or emails you send as they may come back to haunt you. Be prepared financially. If your
investigation case surfaces your fears of cheating, don’t jump ahead of a divorce without a “war chest”. This is especially true if there are children involved. Make a plan to gather documents that will help you and your attorney, such as tax returns, banking
and investment documents. Finally, change your pin numbers and passwords. As with married couples, boyfriend, girlfriend relationships can trigger concerns of infidelity. If this is the case, you need to confirm an unfaithful relationship prior to any
serious commitment. Have our private investigator conduct a background check and lifestyle with surveillance.
Missing Person and Skip Tracing
Both a missing person and a skip have something in common, yet different in nature. The skip tracer is generally looking for deadbeats, jailbirds and the need to locate for a witness subpoena. The missing person may be categorized in two major groups: those people who are endangered and the other are people who want to be missing. Many times, the later are spouses who walk out of a marriage, some are drug addicts that have chosen to hide or become homeless. The latest troubling concern are those who are being Human Trafficked. This group are endangered, yet many times seek to remain hidden. They simply do not want to be found and often have been brainwashed or fear harm from their handler. A missing child is almost always classified as endangered, with possible abduction circumstances. A missing child will involve police intervention as well as state child services.
Typically, Classified Investigations, LLC is utilized to locate a witness for legal process of service purposes. On occasion, a family member hires a private investigator to locate a homeless family member. Those cases generally involve considerable leg work in visiting shelters, churches, outreach programs and interviewing other homeless people.
Businesses ready to hire a future employee should consider a background screen. This is especially important if that new hire is going into client’s homes or will have fiduciary roles. Classified Investigations LLC offers two levels of pre-employment background screens to suit your need. Entry level for most of your screens and Sensitive for mid-level management positions. An employer never wants to give the keys to the shop without credential verification. All backgrounds require written notifications and signed consents from the candidate. This is for compliance for the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We also require a copy of the driver’s license and social security card (other documents may be necessary for Sensitive Backgrounds). Criminal background checks should be conducted with the finalist job candidate, typically pending the employment offer.

Today's world leaves digital footprints which opens the door for electronic forensics and countermeasures to protect your home and business. Often overlooked are sweeps for hidden cameras in a retail store’s restrooms. One instance of such an intrusion would cost a company high stake in both lawsuit dollars and image reputation damage for months to come.
Private clients may express concerns of their home, office, phone, or vehicle being “bugged”. We can conduct a through sweep which will detect any device, either on or off. If it is there, it will be located.
Skip tracing is performed in stages. The first step is to gather and verify the information provided by the client to better understand who the subject is and if the client has any misinformation. The information is then analyzed, reduced, and verified. Often, the job becomes more than mere research since one must often employ methods of social engineering, which involves interviewing friends, former neighbors and relatives cleaned from our database searches. Our professional databases will include utility information, phone numbers, past and hopefully present, motor vehicles owned and other information available to licensed private investigators.
Even when no specific information is returned, public and private databases exist that cross-reference skip tracing information with others the "skip" may have lived with in the recent past. For instance, if previous records show a "skip" lived in the same house as a third party, the third party may also be skip traced to locate the primary target.
